Like many of Addison County streams the best fishing on the lower sections will be in the early morning this week. The evening will offer some decent options but it will still be warm and the fish may not become active until after dark. Also being mindful of the temps on fish you are trying to catch and release will probably keep you off the lower sections. Bristol would be where the temps will e more reasonable and the fish will be more active for more of the day. It's a great time to do some dry fly fishing in the cooler sections of the mountains. Look for hatches in the middle and upper sections in the morning and mid evening. If you do fish Dog Team at sundown you'll probably see some of the Cream Varient, White Mayfly coming up from the Otter. Keep your tippets light. I think Dry Dropper rigs will be very fun throughout the entire New Haven River System. Early morning will be a great time to get the river to yourself and try a couple different rigs. I like cleaning up my riffles and pools with a streamer. Watch your temps PLEASE!
